Galveston County Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover sting operation in La Marque Texas, after receiving tips about an illegal gambling establishment.

The Sheriff’s Special Crimes investigators acted on information that players were illegally being paid cash after winning games on eight liner video machines.

On Monday night, sheriff’s deputies, La Marque police and agents from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission raided the Lucky Mini Mart in the 3500 block of FM 1765. Two employees from the convenience store were taken into custody.

Ngan Kim Huynh and Trong Ton Huynh were charged with keeping a gambling place, a Class A misdemeanor in Texas, punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000 and or confinement in jail for a term not to exceed one year. Both were later released on $1,500 bond each.

Under cover investigators were paid approximately $50 in cash after winning on the video slot machines. Captain Barry Cook said that investigators seized the store gaming terminal, receipts, ledgers and $24,000 in cash.
