The White Hall Resort and Entertainment Center just west of Montgomery, Alabama re-opened Tuesday with about half of its 900 games in operation.
The electronic bingo facility was raid in March by Govenor Bob Riley’s task Force on illegal Gambling for the use of illegal slot machines.
The gaming facility advertised “Hot Slots” and the Alabama Supreme Court shut down the casino ruling that the electronic machines did not operate within the six criteria’s approved for legal bingo games, including having numbers announced one by one and having players mark their cards.
The bingo casino has redesigned games which will require more customer interaction as they are no longer automatic. Winner’s will also be required to announce when they have a won, instead of the machines bells and whistles.
Eighteen counties in the state have approved laws allowing bingo, while most provide traditional games a few have electronic bingo gaming. Traditional casino gambling as with slot machines and table games of chance are illegal.
