The Boot Hill Casino and Resort, based on the Dodge City experience in 1870 and 1880, has been granted a conditional certification to open its doors on December 15 after the successful completion two controlled demonstration days.
The casino would be managed by Butler National Corp. who has been approved to manage and open the facility as required by the legislation allowing four stated owned casinos to be privately operated. The approval deemed the casino operator as a suitable manager able to maintain gaming and financial integrity.
The casino’s internal control systems, security, surveillance plans, slot and table game rules and procedures and its responsible gaming plan have all been reviewed and approved by the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission.
The $45 million Casino project will open with 584 electronic gaming machines, 12 table games, a full service restaurant, saloon, snack bar and gift shop.
The projects second phase includes a hotel to be completed in 2012 estimated to cost an additional $42.5 million.
The Boot Hill Casino will be the first casino to open since voters approved gambling in 2007.
