The World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced the event line up for the 2010 tournament, today with a few changes.
The tournament will run from May 27 through July 17 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. WSOP officials have said they will add up to 20% more tables to ease capacity issues raised during the 2009 event.
The main no limit Texas Hold’em event will begin July 5 with a $10,000 buy in. The final table will be chosen by July 18 and will be played beginning on November 6th, to accommodate television coverage.
WSOP plans to change the format of the $50,000 mixed game H.O.R.S.E. after cable network ESPN chose not to broadcast last years H.O.R.S.E. tournament because it was not easy for TV viewers to follow.
Instead the series will offer The Players Championship which will feature an eight game mix of limit hold ‘em, Omaha high-low split eight or better, razz, seven card stud, seven card stud high-low split eight or better, no-limit hold ‘em, pot-limit Omaha and deuce-to-seven triple draw low ball Series.
The final table of the Players Championship will be broadcasted on ESPN and only no limit hold ‘em will be played. The Chip Reese Memorial Trophy will be awarded to the champion.
