Southeastern Pennsylvania’s first slots parlor, Philly Park has opened its expanded gaming facility outside Philadelphia today.
The new casino Parx casino has opened with more than 3,000 slots and video poker machines in Bensalem.
The $250 million casino replaces the temporary parlor opened in 2006 at Philadelphia Park racetrack.
The new gambling facility offers patrons three restaurants, a sports bar and a live entertainment venue.
Carrie Nork Minelli, spokeswomen for Parx says they will include table games once the states Legislatures approve the bill currently before the house.
Greenwood Racing Inc., which owns the highly successful Philadelphia Park Casino & Racetrack has 450 acres to work with and the 260,000 square foot casino takes up only a few of those acres allowing room for future plans to build a hotel, spa, a nightclub and retail space.
“We’re widening the scope of what we can do here,” said Bob Green, chairman of the gaming company “The amenities and services we provide will put us in a different league.”
