MBA students from across the country will have the chance to win thousands of dollars in prize money, while the MBA Poker Tournament donates a portion of the proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association and Cleveland Clinic.
The event has generated $33,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association in its first 4 years.
MBA students and alumni will have the opportunity to test their poker skills and their school spirit against MBAs from top schools.
In 2009 the prize pool totaled over $65,000 in cash with over 600 MBA students and alumni participating from some of the country’s best universities including Duke, Harvard, Kellogg, Stanford GSB, UCLA, University of Chicago Booth School, and Wharton.
“This is an important networking and recruiting event for the MBA candidates and our recruiting team,” said Brad Warga, vice president of talent acquisition, Harrah’s Entertainment. “MBA poker players tend to think quickly on their feet and be quite quantitatively apt — two attributes highly coveted by businesses.”
