Resorts World Sentosa has formed an alliance with Tiger Airways to charter guest overseas to the integrated resort casino from Singapore and other cities around the region.
The chartered aircraft plans to start operations later this year.
Under the terms of the agreement Resorts World Sentosa will take ownership of the aircrafts lease while Tiger Airways will pilot and staff the crew.
Ms Liang Wern Ling, RWS’ director of destination sales, added: “We promised Singapore that Resorts World Sentosa will bring tourism to the country and reinvent its tourism landscape. We are creating our own airline with this first aircraft.”
Genting Singapore launched the grand opening of Resorts World Sentosa last week in line with the Chinese New Year and has already attracted over 128,000 visitors.
The 15,000 square meter gambling floor is currently only three quarters opened and has already received feedback that more gaming tables are needed, Resorts World plans to seek approval from the Casino Regulatory Authority.
