With the country being mired in recession, Las Vegas Casinos are being hit hard in their pocketbooks. Gaming executives have been forced to work feverishly to get customers through the doors of their casinos.

Some operators of high-end resorts have slashed hotel room rates in response to the economic downturn and now may be regretting that decision as they don’t necessarily like what is walk through casino doors.

“I love to look at the people, because by looking at the people, you can profile what the customer base is,” said Las Vegas Sands Corporation Chief Operating Officer Michael Leven. “So they brought in a series of customers that don’t spend any money. They walk the streets, they look for the free buffets.”

Apparently it’s not OK in Vegas to see the sights, spend time with your family and look for the best meal in town. You better gamble and be educated in doing so.

Leven went on to say that he can spot these people by their weight. According to Leven, overweight customers are idiots as well.

“And some of these slot machines that come out today are too complicated even for those people to figure out,” Leven added.

It’s is interesting that a person in Leven’s position can make comments like this and still have a job.
