Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pa along with Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Luzerne County, Pa. have received preliminary state approval for table games, according to state regulators.

Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Chairman Greg Fajt said Wednesday’s decision is just one step in the process of getting table games up and running in Pennsylvania.

Although each casino is required to pay a state-mandated fee of $16.5 million by June 1st, both must meet other regulations as well.

Each are expected to have live table games on the floor by late June or early July.

Pennsylvania has nine slots casinos and table games were approved by the state legislature early this year, however, all are are subject to an extensive approval process.

At Parx, their casino floor is slated to include 39 blackjack tables, four craps tables, five roulette tables, five three-card poker tables and four baccarat tables.

These types of table games are expected to generate $14.4 million per year in state taxes for Pennsylvania.
