According to a study conducted by Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), visitors are spend less money when they come to Las Vegas.
The new LVCVA findings only confirms what casino operators already knew. Visitors to the Sin City in 2009 didn’t gamble as much and spent less for hotel rooms.
The LVCVA says that Las Vegas visitors spending habits are changing. Each visitor spent an average gaming budget of 481.57 dollars per trip, down roughly 9 percent from 531.98 dollars a year ago and off some 26 percent from the figure’s peak in 2006.
The percentage of hotel patrons people that said they had gambled on their trip slipped to just 83 percent in 2009.
With the nation’s economic recession deterring business travel and higher-spending conventioneers amounted to just 9 percent of the visitors surveyed in 2009, down from 12 percent in 2008.
This Visitor Profile Study is conducted annually for the LVCVA by GLS Research and is based on street surveys and interviews of 3,600 visitors per year.
