Pennsylvania’s top grossing casino attributes the passage of table game legislation to its ability to continue to grow.
Just three months after moving from the PhillyPark Casino and racetrack to a new $250 million gambling hall equipped with 3,294 slot machines Parx casino will embark on another expansion project.
The multi-million dollar expansion is anticipated to take three to five years and create an additional 1,000 jobs with the potential cost of $100 million to $300 million depending on the size of the hotel, spa and showroom.
The first phase will launch in July with the addition of 80 table games including blackjack, craps, roulette and mini baccarat.
In December Greenwood Racing plans to add 20,000 square feet to accommodate an additional 450 slot machines and 40 extra table games.
Next spring, the casino will grow another 30,000 square feet with two restaurants and a nightclub. By this time slot machines will reach 4,000 and table games will max at 140.
A 400 room hotel is also planned to be constructed in the next two to three years.
“We have never rested on our laurels,” said Green, who revealed his casino’s growth plans yesterday. “We are always looking to improve our business. Businesses have to evolve and invest in the future.”
