Just few short years ago, slot parlors and video poker bars where springing up all across the Las Vegas Valley, however hard economic times have forced many to close as quickly as they appeared.

When the bottom fell out of the real-estate market, every one in Nevada was effected. In fact, every state from coast to coast has taken a huge hit.

United Coin Machine Co. is one of the largest operators of slot machines in bars, convenience stores and other small, non-casino locations that has been able to keep its doors open. However, it has not been easy.

The Las Vegas company runs the Gamblers Bonus slot club in hundreds of Southern Nevada bars that rent the poker machines and splits the revenue with bar owners.

United Coin has been forced to remove its poker machines from more than 30 bars that have closed because of the recession.

For United Coin, they may just be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. In February and March of 2010, they have seen their revenue intake level off somewhat. That is a huge difference from the decline the company has consistently seen since 2007.

Although United Coin realizes that two months does not make a trend, they do see this as a sign to be optimistic.
