Nevada gaming regulators have begun to question Las Vegas casino operators with Macau properties after Reuters reported early this week that court documents tie Las Vegas Sands to organized crime and a settlement was reached between MGM Mirage and the state of New Jersey.
Nevada’s Gaming Control Board said on Wednesday that they were analyzing the status of VIP room operations in Macau casinos and possible links to organized crime.
“At the conclusion of our analysis of the situation in its entirety, this agency will move appropriately as governed by Nevada law and standards required of our Nevada licenses,” Randall Sayre, a member of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, said in an e-mailed statement.
Sayre continued to say that the situation, along with the general environment regarding VIP operations in Macau, was known to the agency and would be addressed “at the point the investigative product is ripe for consideration.”
