The Missouri Gaming Commission and the Illinois Gaming Board have reported that revenue from St. Louis area gambling operations reached nearly $99.7 million during the month of March.
According to reports from the gaming regulators, Pinnacle Entertainment’s new River City Casino has contributed to the boost.
Without the added revenue from River City the areas other six casinos fell a total of 8.4% to $83.7 million compared to $91.4 million in March 2009.
However River City brought in $15.9 million during the month. The 90,000 square foot riverboat casino opened on March 4 with more than 2,100 slot machines and 55 table games.
River City was the only area casino to report a gain, since March was its first month of operation. The President Casino posted the largest decrease dropping 31.4%.
Revenue at the Casino Queen in East St. Louis was down 10.8%, Argosy Alton’s fell 8.4%, Ameristar Casino in St. Charles fell 8.1%, Lumiere Place in downtown St. Louis was down 8% and Harrah’s Casino in Maryland Heights dropped 5.7%.
