Last month’s World Poker Tour event saw Carlos “El Matador” Mortenson wining the main event to move ahead of Daniel Negreanu as the tour’s leading money winner.
The event also saw Hollywood Lawrenceburg casino bring in $40 million in adjusted gross revenue, according to the Indiana Gaming Commission a 14% revenue increase marking the highest total since last July when the casino re-opened after a renovation and rebranding.
The casino brought in $6.5 million from table games and saw an increase of 16% in attendance with patrons reaching 353,000.
“For the first time in the history of the property, we did over a million dollars in just poker revenue alone,” said Hollywood General Manager Tony Rodio. “There was spillover into other table games. We had our best table month in a long, long time.”
Total quarterly revenue for the casino was up 15% to $111.5 million and attendance up 15% to just under 1 million gamblers.
