West Virginia’s Charles Town Races & Slots now has a new name to go along with its new decor, atmosphere, games and entertainment.
Penn National Gaming the owners of the racetrack-casino has used the pending July 1 launch of table games to rebrand the facility to the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races.
When the renovations are complete the casino will have nine table game areas, including a nonsmoking, high roller and party pit on the casino floor with a total 85 games, plus a 27-table poker room as well as all of the existing 5,000 slot machines.
The casino is also getting a new noodle bar in the food court, a Final Cut steakhouse and two-level, 300-seat “Hollywood on the Roof” entertainment lounge.
In December, Jefferson County voters approved a measure allowing Charles Town to install table games making he racetrack and slot parlor a full fledged casino.
“The Hollywood Casino brand has been very successful for Penn National” said General Manager Al Britton “as we expand to a full service casino and add new features and amenities, we are focused on preserving the rich tradition of racing that has been part of Charles Town for the last 77 years.”
