Now that New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch has said he plans to veto the state’s gambling expansion bill being considered in the House, supporters of the bill are scrambling to come up with a new plan.

Legislation to expand gambling in New Hampshire to include six casino-style facilities has already passed in the Senate and many experts feel that such a bill could help solve the state’s financial woes.

“I think you see it as close as it’s ever been because it is, right now, the only revenue solution of its size that could make an impact for the state of New Hampshire,” said Rich Killion of Fix It Now New Hampshire.

Representative David Campbell is trying to draw up an alternative to the Senate bill. His plan, includes the addition of video slots go to racetracks in Rockingham and Seabrook. As well as a resort-style gaming facilities be built in Hudson, and North Country.

Senator Lou D’Allesandro, author of the original Senate legislation, supports the new bill. The House is slated to begin considering it later this week.
