As Missouri regulators consider proposals for casinos in north St. Louis County, Cape Girardeau and the Kansas City area, St. Louis collects their own proposals.

Last month St. Louis officials opened the door to developers looking to build a casino in St. Louis to replace Pinnacle Entertainments President Casino being closed this summer.

However today is the deadline for those developers to submit their notices of interest to the city.

The first stage includes submitting basic information about the company involved and their objectives. Full proposals are due by May 27 which will be followed by an evaluation process where the city will select one to support before the Missouri Gaming Commission for the 13th and final gambling license.

St. Louis officials are hoping to find a qualified developer with a competitive bid that could generate new tax revenue and replace lost jobs in the city.

Proposals to the city require a $10,000 non-refundable filing fee to cover the costs of the evaluation process. Projects selected for recommendation must also reimburse the city for legal and consulting costs related to the process. Separately, the Missouri Gaming Commission requires its own filing fee of $50,000 as set by state statute.
