Three companies have heeded the call from St. Louis officials to express interest in developing a new casino in the city.

The Missouri Gaming Commission will issue the states final gaming license this fall, after it becomes available.

Pinnacle Entertainment will close the President Riverboat Casino this summer, allowing another operator to pick up the license.

Isle of Capri Casinos, Casino Celebration and Blue Sky Development Corp submitted letters of interest to the St. Louis Development Corp. on Monday.

While details have not yet been provided, Isle of Capri says they are considering St. Louis as well as other areas of the state but has not committed to a specific project.

Bill Koman, head of Koman Properties has expressed interest in developing Casino Celebration in north St. Louis. While Koman’s family owns the Casino Queen, Koman has said that there will be no connection between the two.

The third party to respond was Blue Sky Development Corp, who seems to be linked to Visioneering Studios, a design firm that appears to have no casino properties.

Full proposals are expected before May 27, at which time city officials will review plans and select a winning bidder to support before the Commission.
