Pinnacle Entertainment has said that they do not plan on downsizing its casino and hotel complex in Baton Rouge; it may just “be the opposite”.
The company has recently received approval from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for plans including a single level riverboat casino featuring 1,300 slot machines, 50 table games, 100 room hotel and a mix of restaurants, bars and entertainment.
CEO Anthony Sanfilippo said during a conference call this week to discuss the company’s quarterly financial earnings that they were confident they can establish a “best-in-market” gambling complex in Baton Rouge and that they were considering other ideas that might help to attract other developers to the area, including an outdoor amphitheater.
Pinnacle has spent more than $20 million on the $250 million project that will break ground in the coming weeks.
Earlier this month, Pinnacle canceled a $350 million casino project planned for Lake Charles.
