The Mississippi Gaming Commission has granted site approval Thursday morning for a second casino to be developed in coastal D’Iberville.

Developers say the $150 million “Oyster Bay” casino project will recreate an 1850’s fishing village with oyster schooners and shrimp boats and will include restaurants, shops and an artists’ village on a 24 acre site near the Harrison-Jackson County line on Racetrack Road.

The casino will include 1,000 slot machines and 24 table games and is anticipated to generate more than $8 million in revenue for state and local governments.

The project is expected to be built and open within two years.
The project is being developed by Malcolm Duane Lewis, a veteran developer of commercial real estate along with Tom Moore, a D’Iberville native.
