Although Wynn Resorts unexpectedly scrapped a deal to develop and manage the Foxwoods Casino with Philadelphia Entertainment and Development Partners last month, they may be preparing another bid.
Steve Wynn, Chief Executive Officer, told investors last week that they were considering making another bid for the license should it become available.
“The gaming opportunities in Pennsylvania were interesting and stimulating but the particular deal we were in…became unattractive to us,” Wynn said. “We backed out of (that) deal more than we backed out of Pennsylvania.”
After being tangled up in political controversy and financial troubles since it was first approved in 2006, the developers of the Foxwoods Casino may be losing its license, after Pennsylvania regulators refused to allow the group more time to secure financing and filed legal action to revoke the license.
