The dream of developing a 124,000 square foot Indian casino resort complete with gaming space, a conference center, nearly 1,100 hotel rooms, restaurants, shops, a tribal headquarters, a shoreline park, trails and a ferry service station continues for the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians and Upstream Developers.
In a 4-2 vote yesterday, the Richmond City Council extended the closing date on the sale of land at the former Point Molate Naval Fuel Depot to the group, with the city and the tribe continues negotiations over the project’s details.
The city previously agreed to sell the land to the group for $50 million, however this is the fourth extension granted.
Upstream will continue to pay the city $90,000 a month to cover costs on the land, while they continue negotiations with the city, and seek state and federal approval to develop the $1.2 billion complex in the San Francisco Bay area.
The city would receive at least $16.6 million annually under a 20-year municipal services agreement with Upstream if the project is built.
