In preparation to begin offering table games Pennsylvania’s ten approved casinos have paid their licensing fees.

Each casino owed $16.5 million for the additional license. The state gaming control board said this week that they have received a total of $165 million.

In addition to the licensing fees, the state will receive 16% of table game revenue from each of the casinos, of which 2% will benefit local counties and municipalities. The gross tax rate will be reduce to 14% at the end of the second year.

Nine of the licensed casinos will begin offering table games this summer, while the tenth with include the offering when opened in Philadelphia later this year.

Table games were authorized at the state’s slot parlors in January as a way for Governor Ed Rendell to settle last year’s protracted budget stalemate and raise additional revenue.
