On a note posted on the Nevada Gaming Commission’s website, an agency member has, apparently, advised an unidentified gaming attorney not to do business with certain Internet gaming operators.

According to control board member, Randall Sayre, staying away from online gambling business would be “sound from both a state and federal perspective.”

Sayre’s take on the situation was revealed in responce to a question concerning companies that often create two gaming portals. The first accepting wagers and the second being designated for fun. This second site being billed as an instructional or tutorial location for potential gamblers.

The the United States’ internet gambling laws are currently written, Sayre says online gambling companies that except wagers from Americans are in direct violation of the Nevada Gaming Control Act.

Technically, it is illegal in the United States for Internet gaming websites to accept wagers from American players. In 2006, the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act was enacted. That made it a crime for financial institutions to process transactions used in online gambling.
