As Trump Entertainment Resorts begins plans to exit bankruptcy, the Trump Marina hotel and casino will be rebranded under the “Margaritaville” brand.
“Together with Jimmy Buffet’s team at Margaritaville, our plans are to create an exciting new property that we believe will tap its full potential and make it one of the most successful destination gaming resorts in Atlantic City,” Richard Fields said.
Coastal Marina, LLC has entered into a new purchase agreement to buy the Trump Marina Hotel Casino from bankrupt Trump Entertainment and refurbish the property to fit in with Richard Fields’ Margatraville brand.
The two parties had previously negotiated a contract for the sale of the Atlantic City property in 2008, for $316 million and was later reduced to $270 million before the contract fell apart.
The purchase will cost Coastal Marina $316 million and both parties agreed to end prior, unrelated litigation upon the closing of the transaction.
