In April, casino mogul Steve Wynn announced that he was planning on relocating the Las Vegas based company to Macau if he could convince his staff, now as Wynn Macau prepares to launch a new project it seems that the company may be on the move.

“I’m going to bring it (the potential relocation of Wynn Resorts’ headquarters) up at our board meeting in May.” Wynn said “I’m seriously considering that and I am weighing the implications of how I engineer that.”

According to a recent interview with Steve Wynn that move will be engineered by “splitting the headquarters” between Macau and Las Vegas.

Wynn plans to break ground on the Cotai Strip casino project next year and with two resort properties already in Macau will need to increase his “presence in Macau”.

Wynn told reports that “My board of directors agrees and are enthusiastic about it.”

The new project is planned to include 2,000 hotel rooms, about 400 gaming tables, 1,200 to 1,300 slot machines, restaurants, shopping and meeting rooms.

The Cotai Strip project should be ready to open by 2014.
