Pennsylvania casinos are less than a month away from offering table games to gamblers, in what will be a staggered launch.

The states gaming control board has set scheduled testing at the nine casinos to determine whether each casino is ready on an individual level.

“We want to make sure that the employees understand what their responsibilities are,” said Kevin O’Toole, executive director of the gaming board.

The Gaming Control Board said that the procedure will begin with an eight-hour live testing period, if the conditions are met, each casino will go live with table games two days later, allowing one “down day” for any issues to be addressed.

O’Toole said that each casino is required to donate after-tax profits from the tests to charity.

About 15 gaming board employees will be on hand at the casinos to observe operations, ranging from dealers and cashiers to surveillance operations.

On Tuesday, July 6 testing will begin at the Presque Isle Downs Casino in Erie, the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh and the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington.

On Sunday, July 11 the Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, the Mount Airy Resort Casino in the Poconos and the Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse in Grantville.

On Friday, July 16 the Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack in Chester, Parx Casino in Bensalem and the Sands Casino Resort in Bethlehem.
