Like casinos in most state’s, Louisiana state licenced gambling halls are seeing a two-year slide in revenue continue with little sign of improvement.

The state’s casinos including; 13 riverboats, Harrah’s downtown New Orleans casino and the four race track or racinos took in $203.6 million in May, down 9.3 percent from May 2009 and 13.4 percent from May 2008.

The riverboats, alone, saw an almost $15 million revenue decline in May as compared to the same month in 2009.

Other states have been hit with the same kind of thing. Nevada’s revenue numbers are in from April and are down nearly 19 percent from 2008. New Jersey casino revenue fell 29 percent in the two years since May of 2008.

Though the state of Mississippi still recorded losses in their revenue numbers, casinos in the Magnolia State fared a little better in an April-to-April comparison. They recorded just a 4.7 percent drop over that time period.
