On Tuesday night in Boston, the Bulls and the Celtics will face-off in the pivotal fifth game of this surprisingly close best out of seven series. The big question is; can the Bulls carry over the momentum from their game-four double overtime win to beat the Celtics for the second time in Boston.
Odds makers don’t think so. NBA betting lines have Boston sitting at about a 7.5 point favorite in game five.
A major concern for Chicago will most certainly be the health of Ben Gordon. An MRI on Monday confirmed a diagnosis of a strained his left hamstring. Most would agree that without their star shooting guard at or near 100% it will be tough to imagine a Bulls victory.
Gordon is listed as day to day, however, he has vowed to be in the line-up.
For Boston, their philosophy should be pretty simple. If the Celtics can stay composed, control the pace and get solid performances from Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, they should be fine.
The problem is, since losing Kevin Garnett to injury, Boston has not been consistent. Despite the Celtics being a heavy favorite, this game has all the makings of being another nail-biter.
