As part of an $850 million expansion, the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, has begun increasing their staff and plans to hire nearly 800 more personnel as construction projects continue to move forward.
There has already been more than 400 new hires as part of the Hard Rock’s the major expansion project.
This is great news for workers as Las Vegas has been hard hit by the nation’s economic downturn. Recession has caused the unemployment rate in Nevada to climb to over 10 percent, the highest since 1983.
The casino will soon be opening two new hotel towers on the property that include the newly renovated Joint concert hall, a restaurant and tattoo parlor. Resort management said a new nightclub, spa and health club will also be part of the expansion.
Hard Rock International is also exploring investments abroad. President and chief executive officer Hamish Dodds said the group was looking into gaming opportunities in Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan.
