Earlier this week, the Online Casino Industry got the bad news about about Barney Frank’s bill to lift the ban on Internet gambling in the U.S.

According to Frank’s office, the bill to overturn the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2007 has been put on the back burner and with Congress concentrating on the economy, the bill will not be heard by the House Financial Services Committee until at least September.

Supporters of Frank’s bill are growing frustrated with the delays.

“All I keep hearing is that Congress is busy trying to fix the economy and they don’t have time to rule on Frank’s bill,” said an anonymous observer. “I though regulating and taxing online gambling was going to make the Federal Government millions of dollars. Doesn’t that help?”

Frank has received growing support for his legislation. So far, he has thirty-five co-sponsors for the bill and the idea is continuing for gather bipartisan support from Democrats as well as Republicans.
