According to reports, MLB commissioner Bud Selig appears to be thinking about the reinstatement of former hitting star Pete Rose nearly two decades after he was banned from baseball for gambling on the sport.

Next month will be the 20th anniversary of Rose’s permanent ban from baseball.

The idea has come up for discussion partly because Rose has received support from some respected Major League Baseball Hall of Famers.

Joe Morgan, Frank Robinson and Selig’s close friend Hank Aaron have given Rose their support.

“I would certainly like to see him in,” Aaron said Saturday. “He belongs in, really.”

Of course Aaron is talking about Rose and the Hall of Fame. I think it is time to let him back in baseball. After 20 years he has paid the price. So he bet on some games, is that so terrible?

Look at O.J. Simpson, he is in the NFL Hall of Fame.
